Every year the Grand Erie Elementary Teachers’ Federation and the Grand Erie Occasional Teacher Locals come together with the GEDSB Safe Schools Committee to present a one day conference to teenage boys in our board. The conference tackles tough issues such as gender equality, violence against women, and coexistence. The boys participate in three workshops and a keynote address.

Hip Hop Appreciation Week (May 14th to May 20th 2018) acknowledges the original intent of Hip Hop (peace, unity, love and safely having fun)
Hip Hop Appreciation Week begins every third week in May.
The Hip Hop Appreciation Week celebration in Mississauga included special performances, workshops and of course… cyphers. #HHAW
This 1 Day Wellness event will feature inspirational spoken word poet Matthew Jones aka Testament to share his story – The day will feature a mini Sarnia Speaks Event, there will be giveaways and Wellness World Cafe Rooms. Lunch, Snacks and fun activities are all provided so pre-register today!

Mapping Out Success for Young Men
The Blueprint: Volume 1, Mapping out Success for Young Men is a conference targeted at high school boys. The purpose of the conference is to address the issues facing young men, particularly as they pertain to their personal, academic and professional development. By addressing issues such as healthy relationships, building self-esteem, male body image, leadership skills, community development, and transferable skills, the conference seeks to engage young men in relevant discussions that will, in turn, help them to be better leaders in their respective schools.
